Our range of Folding or Retractable Arm Awnings are ideal for extending your living room outdoors.

Made from timber or aluminium blades, our Venetian Blinds are modern and functional, offering excellent privacy, light control and ventilation. Easy to use, Venetian Blinds allow you to open and close the blades to any position and control the direction of sunlight throughout your room or home.

They can be recessed or face fitted, meaning the Venetian Blinds can be installed inside the window frame or on the architrave bordering the window. In addition, Venetian Blinds can be locked into position at the bottom using a pin and bracket system which makes them suitable for glass doors or windows which are frequently opened and closed.

Dollar Curtains & Blinds Pty Ltd ACN 068 338 787 and its related entities (we, us, our) is collecting your personal information to assess your suitability for a contractor role with us and, if successful, to administer and manage your engagement with us.

In addition to the information you provide to us directly, we may also collect information about you from third parties, such as referees (e.g. your previous customers or employers), from government agencies and background screening providers (e.g. criminal and credit history checks) and academic and professional bodies (e.g. to validate details and currency of qualifications).

If you are successful and we engage you as a contractor, we may:

collect further details regarding any health issues or requirements relevant to your role (e.g. pre-existing injuries, allergies, disabilities), so that we (and our franchisees) can comply with OH&S laws, accommodate any specific health requirements and provide a safe working environment for you;
collect your banking details;
collect feedback about your performance, including from supervisors and customers;
collect camera/video footage of you while on our premises (via CCTV) and record conversations via call recording technologies we implement in our business (for staff training, quality assurance and record-keeping purposes); and
collect logs of your usage of our equipment (e.g. phones, computers and vehicles) and access to our premises and systems, including monitoring internet and network use and the location of our vehicles and equipment via GPS.

If you do not provide any of the information requested, we may not be able to properly consider your application or make an offer for a contractor role with us.

To assess and progress your application and administer your ongoing engagement with us, we may disclose the personal information it collects to:

our related entities and our franchisees who we authorise to operate a ‘dollar curtains + blinds’ franchise;
your emergency contacts, referees and agents;
third parties who provide us with administrative, IT and other support services (including data hosting and background screening services);
our professional advisors;
government and law enforcement agencies; and

This children’s bedroom has views of the street so it needed daytime privacy along with total blockout at night. To achieve this, a Double Wave Fold Curtain has been designed.

The sheer fabric softens the outlook of the fence and as the client’s children play in the room during the day, the sheer fabric reduces glare and adds UV protection. The blockout fabric is simply closed at night for darkness and total light control.

With a Double Curtain Track, you can select to have a simple backing fabric (in either blockout or sheer) and make a feature of the front Curtain, or opt for two designer fabrics. In this room, dollar curtains + blinds has designed two beautiful ivory fabrics, deciding to hang the sheer fabric with a beautifully textured design in front.

Sheer fabrics are lightweight open weave fabrics which add texture and movement and create softly filtered light. Perfect for maximising window views and natural daylight whilst maintaining daytime privacy. Combine with a blockout fabric in a Double Roller Blind for night time privacy and darkness. The perfect Blind combination.

Automation

Our Cellular Blind range has a choice of motorised solutions such as wall charger, battery pack, or hardwired connection. Our Cellular Blind Automate® CL 0.8 motors and suite of controllers can be completely integrated to achieve the perfect Automated experience.

Shutters are an ideal choice for thermal insulation – open the blades to stream light into rooms or close to insulate, providing you with a more energy efficient home all year round. Shutters can also transform the façade of your home, creating an immediate impact on your home’s curb appeal while adding sound insulation from outside road and traffic noise.

PVC Shutters have the added benefits of being UV, water and moisture resistant to withstand fading, cracking or warping. Unaffected by moisture or humidity makes them ideal for high use and wet areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundries.

Shutters provide a luxe look and are great for coastal-style homes. They can also be paired with Sheer Curtains which add an element of softness. This works particularly well in living areas and bedrooms. Difficult windows such as corners and bay windows are also perfectly suited to Plantation Shutters as they can be custom-made to any size and shape window.

When it comes to designing a home, what does your design process look like?

Engaging a quality builder that will work with your design requirements and budget is key. I find it beneficial to gather building samples and colour swatches to ensure all my selections work together.

What are your top 3 design/style tips for building or renovating a house?

1. Know your budget and prioritise your must-haves.

2. If budget allows, use 3D imaging software to help conceptualise your floorplan and finishes.

3. Create mood boards to bring together your vision.

You’re given a limited renovation budget; how would you spend it wisely to transform a home?

Prioritise key elements in your budget (whether it’s a fixture, fitting or piece of furniture) and make them the hero.

What’s the biggest interior design mistake you’ve ever made?

Trying to incorporate too many interior styles in the one space.

What qualities do you look for when choosing materials, furniture and accessories in your designs?

Ethical manufacturing, durability, a quality finish, and attention to detail.

Are you a Curtains, Blinds or Shutters person?

I can’t go past the beautiful, dappled light achieved through Sheer Curtains.

How did our products transform your home?

The Sheer Curtains created a beautiful and soft effect by filtering and dispersing natural light throughout every room. It evokes a warm and inviting space for our family to enjoy.

Some people find it difficult to decide what to do with their windows. Any tips?

It is important to decide how you want your window furnishings to function. For example, do you require Curtains for privacy or for maximising daylight, or something in between? Window coverings also play a vital role in the overall aesthetics of a space. Floor to ceiling Curtains can enhance a room by making it appear more spacious whilst creating a luxurious feel.

How do you find inspiration?

Through online look books, local designers, shop fit outs, creating flat lays and by saving Instagram galleries.

What design project(s) are you working on at the moment?

Our new house build and adjoining cake studio – with dollar curtains + blinds window furnishings of course!
