Traversing Wand Operation

In this lounge room, you’ll see one of the most popular options right now – the combination of a Roller Blind and a Sheer Wave Fold Curtain in front. It’s a modern look that suits a range of styles and it’s also highly functional.

The Roller Blind is automated so you can control it to any height with the touch of a button, ideal for rooms that get strong sun rays and shifting light conditions throughout the day.

The Sheer Curtains in front don’t just look pretty, they diffuse light and offer daytime privacy – and also improve thermal insulation.

Chain + Cord operated

For a striking look opt for a Decorative Rod which can be finished with rings or finials. Decorative in nature, rings attach to the Rod and allow window treatments to easily open and close. Finials, the decorative pieces at the end of a Rod, allow you to customise your look. Decorator Rods can be used as runners so they function like a track or they can be slotted into a Curtain heading as shown for the Eyelet Curtain style.

Fabrics.

Coated Fabrics.

You may have come across the term ‘fabric coating’. This refers to fabrics that have a lining applied to the back of the fabric.

Coated fabrics help to block out light and generally do not need an additional layer of lining, which makes them a cost-effective fabric choice.

In rooms where you do not need daytime privacy, a coated fabric Curtain may be the only window covering you require to achieve total privacy and block out at night.

dollar curtains + blinds have a huge range of coated fabrics to choose from, including an array of colours, prints and textures. For quality and value, choose from the Curtains+ complimentary making range.

Many Curtain fabrics are made uncoated and have a separate lining added to them to create a Blockout Curtain. Although tightly woven without any coating, these fabrics offer a softer look and drape. They provide a higher level of insulation and light control than sheer fabrics.

What are the 3 most important things that make your home feel like a home?

Warm tones. Cosy textures in the furniture. Light filled. The open fireplace.

What was your biggest splurge when designing your home?

Sheer Curtains. The filtered light absolutely transforms the atmosphere in any room.

What is your most cherished possession?

Although not a possession, my children! If I were to choose a “thing” it would be a diamond and coral ring I own that took me months to save for when I was 16. I lost it on a trip home to New Zealand and my husband surprised me by buying me another one when he knew how devastated I was. It has so much sentimental value now.
