Reflecting the evolving macro-trends of cocooning, biophilia, and a return to glamour, three trending palettes — Restorative Naturals, Perennial Greens, and Decadent Darks capture the desire to explore new dimensions within both familiar and undiscovered interior spaces.

Celebrating the dynamic power of colour, these palettes showcase the art of layering, whether tone-on-tone or across a spectrum of shades. They inspire the introduction of accent colours that not only create focal points within a space, but also contribute to a cohesive, beautifully liveable design scheme.

Perennial Greens.

Perennial Greens celebrates deep connection to nature, a sentiment that grew stronger during the pandemic and continues to shape biophilic design.

Green, a symbol of renewal and inclusivity, is known for its calming effect on mental wellbeing, making it a popular choice in wellness and healthcare spaces.

Rather than bold limes and emeralds, this palette leans into muted, earthy greens like moss, artichoke, and martini. These organic hues pair effortlessly with soft mineral pastels, vibrant accents, and metallic details. Splashes of acid greens add a fresh, dynamic twist.

Green also shines in patterns, whether through bold jungle prints and animal motifs or subtle, nature-inspired designs featuring delicate foliage and organic shapes, bringing life and depth to interior spaces.

Go Green.

To bring the calming essence of Perennial Greens into your space, consider layering shades of green with natural textures. Pair our Sheer Curtains in a soft sage with our Blockout Curtains in a deep forest green to create depth and contrast.

For a fresh, biophilic feel, compliment your window furnishings with timber accents, indoor plants, and brass or matte black hardware. Add pops of acid green, like chartreuse Cushions or an oxide-toned rug, for a modern twist that keeps the look vibrant yet grounded.

Restorative Naturals.

Restorative Naturals embraces the cocooning trend, reflecting the desire for comfort and calm in an ever-changing world shaped by global events and environmental shifts.

This palette creates a sense of tranquility, offering a soothing retreat from the noise of everyday life. Inspired by earthy, terra-based tones and versatile neutrals, it moves beyond traditional beige to explore subtle shifts in colour that work seamlessly in both warm and cool settings.

Soft blush pinks and mocha’s are complimented by rich shades of burnt umber, caramel, and sienna, alongside timeless neutrals like oatmeal, ecru, and calico. Together, these colours create a warm, inviting atmosphere grounded in nature.

While cooler elements like concrete, stainless steel, and chrome can feel stark, they’re easily softened with warm, textured furnishings, creating a balanced and harmonious interior.

At Gabbie’s salon on the Bellarine Peninsula, we helped her select the perfect Wave Fold Sheer Curtains in soft, natural earthy tones to create a serene spa-like atmosphere for her clients.

“People come to The Native Co for some downtime and serenity. We needed our Curtains, visible to all from the outside and in, to reflect this."”

Decedent Darks.

As colour trends continue to shift, we’re seeing a bold move towards richer, more saturated shades. What started as dirty pink evolved into peach, then terracotta, transitioning into brown, and now deepening into a luxurious, naturally-toned burgundy.

This progression reflects a broader return to glamour in interior design, where earthy tones meet intense, sophisticated hues.

Decadent colours such as blackcurrant, claret, indigo, and moss are now being paired with fresher, lighter accents like soft butter, lemon, fuchsia, raspberry, lilac, and sky blue.

While these bold contrasts may seem challenging to style, they can add vibrancy to a space through subtle touches — like the underside of an umbrella or the trim of a Cushion.

Whether you fully embrace this trend with colour-drenched interiors or introduce it through multi-coloured, textured weaves, these moody hues create a rich, romantic atmosphere, echoing the glamour of the 1980s while feeling fresh and contemporary.

“Dark colours anchor a space, while light colours give it air. Together, they create harmony.”

— Nate Berkus, Interior Designer
