Our business began in 1967 in outer suburban Melbourne, selling Curtain fabric for a dollar by the metre. Since then, we’ve grown to become one of the country’s most trusted names in Curtains, Blinds, Shutters, and Awnings, with more than 30 stores nationwide and a growing team of over 350 dedicated people.
Every Curtain, Blind and Awning is handcrafted to order in our manufacturing facilities. The result is our pride in a job well done and window coverings of the highest quality designed to deliver value for years to come. While we’re proud to maintain a strong tradition in manufacturing, we’re also known for a range of products that lead the way in style and innovation – with superior materials, manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
Today, we’re a familiar brand for generations of families who have trust in dollar curtains + blinds to deliver. We still believe in the importance of one-on-one consultations, the quality of local manufacturing, providing the best value without compromising, and the difference that old fashioned service makes to every customer.

Born in Ballarat in 1935, Haymes Paint is the outcome of Henry Haymes’ passion to provide quality and innovative paint and coating products to all Australians. Over the years, each family member has taken care to hand on the commitment and passion for crafting quality products.
They remain committed to supporting other family-owned businesses, whether that’s the local Paint Specialists or a hardware store that stocks their paint or the professional trade painting contractors who use Haymes Paint every day.
Today, their business is led by the third generation of the Haymes family. Haymes Paint are still Australian Made and Owned – based in Ballarat, where it all began. From beginnings in 1935 to today, Haymes Paint has grown to become the largest family owned paint brand in Australia employing over 440 team members across their network.
