Cell size options.

Cellular Blinds

20mm Cell Size

The 20mm cell size can be used for all types of windows – small, large, narrow or wide. This cell size looks particularly elegant on large windows and is very energy efficient. The premium head rail systems are designed for the 20mm cell size fabrics.

The 20mm cell size is constructed with a D-Cell which is an innovative, side-by-side cellular construction that provides enhanced thermal insulation, ensuring summer heat and the winter cold cannot enter.

Cellular Blinds

10mm Cell Size

A compact air pocket with a classic narrow projection. Choose a 10mm cell size if you need to match an existing Blind that is the same or if you have a very small recess such as on a door where the Thermal Blind needs to fit behind a door handle.

Cellular Blinds

Double Cell

Double Cell is an innovative, side-by-side cellular construction that provides enhanced thermal insulation, keeping out summer heat and winter cold.

More reasons to love Cellular Blinds.

Superior energy efficiency.

Our Cellular Blinds or Thermal Blinds save up to 32% more on heating and cooling costs compared to a standard Roller Blind. The cell construction makes it difficult for heat energy to transfer in and out of the window. This improves energy efficiency, reducing your heating and cooling costs in both winter and summer.

Ultimate child safe solution.

The ultimate in child-safe window coverings, Cellular Blinds or Honeycomb Blinds offer innovative operating systems to enhance the safety of children and pets.

Smaller light gaps.

The headrail has been cleverly designed to ensure minimal light gaps with only a 5mm light gap at each end and the brush insert creates a complete seal at the top to block out light. A standard Roller Blind has approximately 15mm light gaps at each end and an incomplete light seal at the top so Thermal Honeycomb Blinds are far superior. This makes them perfect for nurseries, children’s rooms and bedrooms.

Quality Control.

Cellular Blinds undergo stringent product lifecycle testing which includes functionality, longevity, energy efficiency, cleanability and so much more. This ensures that your Thermal Honeycomb Blind will still look and function perfectly in years to come.

Compact stacking.

The slimline hardware and cellular construction are extremely compact when the Blind is raised, ensuring outside views are maximised.

Larger spans.

Usually larger windows require more than one Blind to be linked together. Cellular Blinds are one of the only true window covering solutions for large windows, easily handling widths of just over 4m wide in a single Blind. This eliminates light gaps that can occur with linked Blinds and improves energy efficiency.

Sound absorption

The perfect solution to absorb sound and quieten the home environment or for keeping exterior noise out.

Innovative operating options.

A versatile range of innovative lifting systems suitable for various window styles such as skylights and shapes are available.

Unique construction.

Dust resistant fabrics provide easy maintenance. The fabric is constructed with the unique D-Cell design which ensures your Cellular Blind pleat never collapses and remains structured over time. Beware of inferior imitations that do not last the distance.

Indoor air quality.

For a fresh and healthy home, the cellular fabrics have safe levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and meet the criteria set by the Green Building Council of Australia. The smart choice for ensuring optimal air quality. Cellular Blinds FAQ's.

Are Cellular Blinds worth it?

Yes! Cellular Blinds save up to 32%* more on heating and cooling costs compared to Roller Blinds, making them ideal for helping the environment and long term savings.

How insulating are Cellular / Honeycomb Blinds?

Cellular Blinds are designed with a unique honeycomb cell shape that creates pockets of energy-saving insulation.

The cell construction improves window energy efficiency by trapping air, reducing heat energy transferring in and out of the window.

Are Cellular Blinds better at blocking light than Roller Blinds?

Yes! The headrail design minimises light gaps, with just a 5mm gap at each end, unlike Roller Blinds which have around 15mm gaps and lack a complete light seal at the top.

*Savings are based on installing fully-recessed, reveal-mounted 20mm single cell blockout fabric in an average Sydney home, compared to the House Energy Rating of Roller Blinds from AccuRate. These calculations are independently modelled, and actual savings may vary depending on window type and installation.

Are Cellular Blinds easy to keep clean?

Cellular Blinds, also known as honeycomb shades, are not particularly difficult to keep clean. Our Cellular Blinds are made from anti-static durable polyester that aids in dust resistance. However, like any window dressing, they can collect dust and dirt over time.

To clean Cellular Blinds, you can use a soft brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to gently remove any dust or debris that has accumulated on the surface of the shades. Alternatively, you can use a feather duster or a microfibre cloth to wipe them down. For deeper cleaning, you can use a damp cloth with mild soap and water to gently scrub the surface of the shades.

It’s important to avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on Cellular Blinds, as these can damage the fabric and shorten the lifespan of the shades. Additionally, be careful not to crush or flatten the pleats of the shades while cleaning them, as this can affect their insulating properties.

If something does manage to sneak into one of the cells, simply blow the inside with a hair dryer set on cool. Easy!

Overall, with proper care and maintenance, Cellular Blinds are a durable and attractive window treatment that are easy to keep clean.
