Roller Blinds

Blockout Roller Blinds

In this lounge room, you’ll see one of the most popular options right now – the combination of a Roller Blind and a Sheer Wave Fold Curtain in front. It’s a modern look that suits a range of styles and it’s also highly functional.

The Roller Blind is automated so you can control it to any height with the touch of a button, ideal for rooms that get strong sun rays and shifting light conditions throughout the day.

The Sheer Curtains in front don’t just look pretty, they diffuse light and offer daytime privacy – and also improve thermal insulation.

For a striking look opt for a Decorative Rod which can be finished with rings or finials. Decorative in nature, rings attach to the Rod and allow window treatments to easily open and close. Finials, the decorative pieces at the end of a Rod, allow you to customise your look. Decorator Rods can be used as runners so they function like a track or they can be slotted into a Curtain heading as shown for the Eyelet Curtain style.

This children’s bedroom has views of the street so it needed daytime privacy along with total blockout at night. To achieve this, a Double Wave Fold Curtain has been designed.

The sheer fabric softens the outlook of the fence and as the client’s children play in the room during the day, the sheer fabric reduces glare and adds UV protection. The blockout fabric is simply closed at night for darkness and total light control.

With a Double Curtain Track, you can select to have a simple backing fabric (in either blockout or sheer) and make a feature of the front Curtain, or opt for two designer fabrics. In this room, dollar curtains + blinds has designed two beautiful ivory fabrics, deciding to hang the sheer fabric with a beautifully textured design in front.

Bonded Blinds

And in this final bedroom, we see that popular combination of a Roller Blind and Wave Fold Curtain again. To add a bit more softness, and because it isn’t a high traffic area, the Curtain length has been extended to kiss the floor rather than float.

I hope this home tour has offered you plenty of ideas and inspiration on what window coverings you could use in your home. For even more ideas, take a look at the dollar curtains + blinds Instagram account, browse their range of product brochures online or visit your local store.

Fabrics.

Fabric is an essential part of choosing Roller Blinds. Each fabric has its own unique characteristics and performance levels so it’s important to choose the best fabric for your lifestyle. We offer an extensive collection of contemporary and traditional Blind fabrics for light, warmth and privacy within your home, office or commercial space.

Roller Blinds are one of the most popular window treatments for any room of the home. They’re incredibly versatile, can be automated and are cost effective.

While there will be small light gaps when using Roller Blinds in a corner window, they are minimal. For main living areas where you don’t need complete blockout, this can be a streamlined and affordable window covering solution.

In this photo, we’ve designed Blockout Roller Blinds under matching Bonded Pelmets.

The Curtain Track you select can either be a discreet track designed to drop away or a decorative track that enhances the look of your Curtains. In contemporary homes it’s most common for a minimalist Curtain Track to be used. Whereas in traditional interiors, decorative Curtain Rods have been gaining popularity.

Another decision is whether to use a Pelmet or not. A Curtain Pelmet is a decorative and functional element used in window treatments. It is a horizontal board or fabric covering that is mounted above the window, concealing the Curtain Rod or Track and the top of the Curtains or draperies.

Pelmets are used in both traditional and modern homes and can achieve a designer look. They also minimise heat transfer through windows, adding to the thermal benefits of your curtains.

Finishes.

Ensure the bottom of your Blinds have the right finish to complete your design scheme. For a contemporary and streamlined look choose a stitched pocket or bottom rail. If you prefer a classic style opt for a scallop finish with braid or fringe or choose a pop of pattern with a bonded insert in a drapery fabric.

Our base rails are constructed from premium aluminium for added strength and durability, they also provide weight to control movement of your Blinds during operation or from breezes. Choose from the oval shape, d-shape or fabric wrap base rail for a seamless and stylish finish to compliment any style interior.
