Blockout Panel Blinds

Blockout Panel Blinds

In this lounge room, you’ll see one of the most popular options right now – the combination of a Roller Blind and a Sheer Wave Fold Curtain in front. It’s a modern look that suits a range of styles and it’s also highly functional.

The Roller Blind is automated so you can control it to any height with the touch of a button, ideal for rooms that get strong sun rays and shifting light conditions throughout the day.

The Sheer Curtains in front don’t just look pretty, they diffuse light and offer daytime privacy – and also improve thermal insulation.

For a striking look opt for a Decorative Rod which can be finished with rings or finials. Decorative in nature, rings attach to the Rod and allow window treatments to easily open and close. Finials, the decorative pieces at the end of a Rod, allow you to customise your look. Decorator Rods can be used as runners so they function like a track or they can be slotted into a Curtain heading as shown for the Eyelet Curtain style.

29mm decorator rods
– Use with rings for pinch pleat, knife pleat, reverse pleat + other pleated styles
– Use Eyelet Curtain heading
– Paired with round finials or end caps
– Hand drawn operation

25mm decorator track rods

– Provided with runners to use as a track

Fabrics.

Fabric is an essential part of choosing Vertical Blinds. Each fabric has its own unique characteristics and performance levels so it’s important to choose the best fabric for your lifestyle. We offer an extensive collection of contemporary and traditional Blind fabrics for light, warmth and privacy within your home, office or commercial space.

Our Automate® window coverings add more to a home than just convenience by facilitating the advanced control of your interior climate. Regardless of how sophisticated your window glazing or tint may be, they’re rarely a match for the benefits of Automated window coverings.

Wild weather shifts, strong sun rays or cold overcast skies, usually result in excessive use of air-conditioning, heating and lighting. Although it may be second nature to reach for the thermostat it can prove to be detrimental to your yearly energy expenses, not to mention its negative effect on global climate control.

Similarly, switching the lights on in your home is traditionally more convenient than manually raising Blinds or opening Drapes. Unfortunately, this too has a negative impact on your home, your wallet and our planet. Our Automate® window covering systems add a new dimension of control and convenience that can help you break out of conventional and costly habits.

Research has found that windows left uncovered are responsible for up to a 40% loss of heating energy, while conversely also contributing up to 87% of a home’s heat gain*, depending on external weather conditions. Mitigating such high amounts of energy transfer through windows can be as simple as raising or lowering your window coverings at optimal times.

Motorised window coverings seamlessly integrate into modern day living and offer a safer and more efficient solution than their manually operated counterparts. Effortlessly manage your window coverings with dynamic control options, from remotes to sun-sensitive sensors.

Roller Blinds are one of the most popular window treatments for any room of the home. They’re incredibly versatile, can be automated and are cost effective.

While there will be small light gaps when using Roller Blinds in a corner window, they are minimal. For main living areas where you don’t need complete blockout, this can be a streamlined and affordable window covering solution.

In this photo, we’ve designed Blockout Roller Blinds under matching Bonded Pelmets.

When it comes to designing a home, what does your design process look like?

Engaging a quality builder that will work with your design requirements and budget is key. I find it beneficial to gather building samples and colour swatches to ensure all my selections work together.

What are your top 3 design/style tips for building or renovating a house?

  1. 1. Know your budget and prioritise your must-haves.

2. If budget allows, use 3D imaging software to help conceptualise your floorplan and finishes.

3. Create mood boards to bring together your vision.

You’re given a limited renovation budget; how would you spend it wisely to transform a home?

Prioritise key elements in your budget (whether it’s a fixture, fitting or piece of furniture) and make them the hero.

What’s the biggest interior design mistake you’ve ever made?

Trying to incorporate too many interior styles in the one space.

What qualities do you look for when choosing materials, furniture and accessories in your designs?

Ethical manufacturing, durability, a quality finish, and attention to detail.

Are you a Curtains, Blinds or Shutters person?

I can’t go past the beautiful, dappled light achieved through Sheer Curtains.

What products did you choose from dollar curtains + blinds?

Sheer Curtains and Blockout Curtains.

How did our products transform your home?

The Sheer Curtains created a beautiful and soft effect by filtering and dispersing natural light throughout every room. It evokes a warm and inviting space for our family to enjoy.

Some people find it difficult to decide what to do with their windows. Any tips?

It is important to decide how you want your window furnishings to function. For example, do you require Curtains for privacy or for maximising daylight, or something in between? Window coverings also play a vital role in the overall aesthetics of a space. Floor to ceiling Curtains can enhance a room by making it appear more spacious whilst creating a luxurious feel.

How do you find inspiration?

Through online look books, local designers, shop fit outs, creating flat lays and by saving Instagram galleries.

What design project(s) are you working on at the moment?

Our new house build and adjoining cake studio – with dollar curtains + blinds window furnishings of course!
