Archipro X Resene.
At the end of 2020, New Zealand Specification website ArchiPro surveyed their talented membership base of design professionals to get their insight on what colours would dominate 2021, as part of the inaugural Resene x ArchiPro 2021 Colour Forecast.
The newly released results saw a common theme of nature-inspired shades that complement the natural materials we see increasingly in our Australasian homes right now. Top colours were selected based on room type.
Best Living Room Colour: Resene Family Tree
It’s an earthy green tone, which imitates nature and gives a sense of connection with outdoors, transcending that connection between interior and exterior.
Best Bedroom Colour: Resene Duck Egg Blue
This dreamy blue has a calming quality and is a departure from some of the bolder colours preferred in bedrooms in recent years.
Best Neutral: Resene Elderflower
A slightly yellow-cream based white, with a bit of freshness to it. Moving away from the grey and beige based whites.
Best Exterior Colour: Resene Charcoal
A deep and recessive shade that creates a dramatic effect when used outdoors – both on walls and landscaping elements.

Pantone Colour Institute.
Pantone Color Institute partners with global brands to effectively leverage the power, psychology, and emotion of colour in their design strategy. Pantone provides seasonal trend forecasts; colour psychology and colour consulting and every year releases their ‘Colour of the Year’. In 2021 we see two colours presented:

- Ultimate Grey 17-5104

Dulux Colour.

Sherwin-Williams’ global colour and design team research and identify key trends that influence the way we interact with colour. From those findings, the team turns emerging themes into the annual Colourmix Forecast and zeros in on a Colour of the Year. The 2021 selection:
