“The service and knowledge shared by our local store was exceptional. It was clear they really know their stuff and nothing was too much trouble. They were incredibly patient with us as we made our final decisions on fabric and colour.”

What type of home did you build – describe the style/design?

We purchased off the plan. We didn’t have much choice in the design area, however, we liked what we saw and went ahead!

        1. Tell us about the planning process about choosing your trades and how you went about it.
      1. For us, it was purely about location. We wanted something brand new and liked what the builder had to offer.

Did you look through any display homes for inspiration?

Yes, there was a display suite in Coburg where the new build was happening.

                      1. What did you look for when finding land – location, size, etc?

It was all about location for us. We wanted something close to the city and to the Macedon Ranges, so Coburg was perfect.

  1. What were the ‘must-haves’ in your new home?

A modern design, high end appliances, and a small yet somewhat spacious and comfortable home.

    1. What’s your favourite room and why?
    2. Definitely our living room. It leads out to the terrace and has everything we need nearby.

When did you contact us during the process and what benefits did dc+b provide?

We contacted dollar curtains + blinds in the planning process to get an initial quote. They offer great value, with affordable prices and high quality products.

    1. Was it beneficial to visit dc+b in-store?
    2. Absolutely. There is a wide range of designer fabrics that are worth taking the time to look at.

How did you find the measure, quote, + install service?

Our local Sunbury store’s team was very friendly and knowledgable throughout the entire process. It all went very smooth.

Did you originally know what you were after in terms of window coverings, or were you seeking our advice?

I always wanted that ‘double’ look for our Curtains, as it brings a luxe appeal to a space but also suits our sliding doors.

What are the 3 most important things that make your house feel like a home?

Warm tones, cosy furniture, and a nice TV.

What is your most cherished possession?

My OLED TV and PS5.

“The Double Curtains have added a warm, luxurious touch to our new home. We absolutely love how they enhance the curb appeal as well.”

  1. What are your top 3 design/style tips for buying off the plan or renovating a house?
    1. 1. Always timber floors in the living room
    2. 2. Carpet in the bedrooms
    3. 3. Induction cooktop

When it comes to designing a home, what is important to you?

A modern look and warm tones!

You’re given a limited renovation budget; how would you spend it wisely to transform a home?

  1. Start with the essentials and try not to overspend on things that aren’t necessities. Kitchen first, then living room, and bedrooms.

What qualities do you look for when choosing materials, furniture, and accessories?

Reputable, hard wearing, and good use of technology if possible.

What products did you choose from dc+b?

  1. We chose Wave Fold Double Curtains and we’re obsessed! The Blockout Curtains are dc+b designs Mosman in colour Pearl and the Sheer Curtains are dc+b designs Ballina, also in colour Pearl.

Are you a Curtains, Blinds, or Shutters person?

  1. I love all of them! It depends on the shape and size of your window though. If I had to choose, Curtains would be my top pick due to offering great insulation and light blockout.
