We spoke with Amber, Selections Consultant at Bryan + Peterson, about their beautiful new Aspect Display Home in Ballarat.

Designed with modern, open-plan family living in mind, the home features our custom made Sheer Curtains, Double Roller Blinds with Pelmets, and Plantation Shutters. Each solution helps enhance the space, showcasing how the right premium window coverings can elevate everyday living.

Crafting quality, award-winning homes in Victoria for over half a century, we were pleased to recently team up with Bryan + Peterson. Every Bryan + Petersen build project is a personalised, collaborative process to ensure each home is functional, energy efficient, and meets their clients requirements.

Like us, they value the importance of fostering relationships through one-to-one service, liaising with their clients, builders, and suppliers to create homes that are well loved and to be lived in.

Our team at dc+b Ballarat were proud to work alongside the team at Bryan + Peterson to bring this homely family display to life.

The Aspect is an exceptional home designed around space, comfort, and connection. Created for families who love to entertain, it offers the perfect balance of open-plan living, private retreats, and flexible spaces that adapt to the way families live.

When it came to the window coverings, the team required solutions that would enhance the way a family lives within the space — supporting energy efficiency, practicality, and safety, while complementing the home’s premium interior design.

“The display home feels warm and homely thanks to the inclusion of the Sheer Curtains and Plantation Shutters. The various Roller Blind choices throughout also makes the home feel well resolved.”

  1. What was the initial vision and design concept for this display home?

The vision of our display home was for it to be a beautiful, welcoming space that showcased our quality homes to those looking to build locally. We are a custom builder, so the display home has various features throughout, showcasing options that clients can bring into their own home design.

        1. What were the ‘must haves’ in this build?
      1. Quality – look, feel, and longevity. Also aesthetically pleasing to a wide audience.

When did you contact us during the build process, and what benefits did dc+b provide?

Initial contact was around the fit-out stage, once all of the plaster was up and majority of cabinetry was  in. Those first discussions with dc+b were really helpful in narrowing down the options of what suited the spaces best for functionality and aesthetics.

Was it beneficial to visit dc+b in-store?

The dc+b store is a beautiful space. Being able to touch fabrics and view product displays in person was very beneficial to the design process, and ultimately the outcome of our selections.

How did you find the measure + install service?

We knew we were in capable hands when it came to the measure + install service. We were confident that it would be done right from the beginning by the Ballarat team.

When it comes to designing a home, what does your design process look like?

The design process is led by the client due to our custom build offering. For the display home, it was most important to showcase the high quality of build that we provide, along with an insight to various design options. The design process was a team effort from initial concepts and colour selections, to furnishing and styling.

What qualities do you look for when choosing materials, furniture, or accessories in your designs?

It is quality of material, both in appearance and feel, and longevity that is most important when choosing furniture and window furnishings for the display.

The purpose is to add a homely feel to our display while allowing the build itself to be the hero. It is important that the materials not only look good to a broad audience, but also that they feel of high quality and are durable to appear as new while the home is on display.

What products did you choose from dc+b and why?

We selected a range of dc+b products for different purposes across the display home, including Wave Fold Sheer Curtains, Day/Night Double Roller Blinds, and Plantation Shutters.

The Sheer Curtains really soften the space and create a homely feel, while the Roller Blinds are a practical solution and add another layer of detail to the display home. The added Pelmets in the living area help provide additional insulation, by concealing any air and light coming through the top of the window, showcasing year-round comfort. The Plantation Shutters are a beautiful feature of the bathrooms and perfect for wet areas.

How have our products helped transform the Aspect display home?

The display feels warm and inviting thanks to the inclusion of Sheer Curtains and Plantation Shutters. It also feels well resolved, from the various Roller Blind selections throughout.

“The dc+b store is a beautiful space. Being able to touch fabrics and see product displays in person was very beneficial to the design process, and ultimately the outcome of our selections.”
