“Windows left uncovered are responsible for up to 40 per cent of heat loss from a home in winter and up to 50 per cent of unwanted heat gain in summer.”

The right window coverings will insulate your windows resulting in greater control over the interior temperature of your home and significant savings on your power bills.

Windows left uncovered are responsible for up to 40 per cent of heat loss from a home in winter and up to 50 per cent of unwanted heat gain in summer. A one degree fall in temperature in your home adds 10 per cent to your heating bill. Conversely an increase in temperature in summer adds significantly to the energy required for cooling.

We specialise in a number of products that can make a difference to your energy consumption and your bank balance!

Curtains.

By choosing Curtains you can preserve up to 20 per cent of the total heat in your home by creating a trapped layer of air between the fabric and the window, resulting in an insulating air pocket.

Studies demonstrate that Curtains made from blockout fabric can reduce heat gains by 33 per cent. Curtains also stay cooler than other window treatments in the summer because their pleats and folds lose heat through convection.

Linings.

Lining your Curtains creates a second layer of trapped air and further insulation. We use the highest quality lining available – Australian made, manufactured in Melbourne and ISO Certified to 9001- 2008.

Pelmets.

Our Boxed Pelmets form a barrier that stops the warm air that has risen to the top of the room from escaping over the top of the Curtain and through the window.

A Pelmet also stops air returning through the glass in summer by trapping it under the Pelmet before it gets into the room.

Roman Blinds.

The fabric layers in Roman Blinds create an insulating air barrier resulting in reduced heat loss in winter and the retention of a cool interior temperature in summer.

An ideal product to use in conjunction with Pelmets and Drapes, Soft Romans can be further enhanced through the addition of soft facing fabric, meaning the window is effectively being covered with a double layer of material.

Roller Blinds.

Roller Blinds are available in UV filtering and energy reflective fabrics which help control the amount of energy that enters and exits the room.

Double Roller Blinds.

Dual or Double Roller Blinds literally double the insulation. By having two Blinds together you create two air pockets to trap the air and cool or heat it before it enters.

Cellular Blinds.

The unique construction of our Cellular Blinds allows air to be trapped within each cell creating a layer of insulation, cooling or heating the air to the internal temperature before it is released. This results in savings of up to 32% on your energy costs.

Venetian Blinds.

The blades in Venetian Blinds allow you to control light and ventilation. Simply adjust the blades to block and reflect direct sunlight onto a light coloured ceiling which will diffuse the light without much heat or glare.

Plantation Shutters.

Shutters are ideal for UV protection in summer. The blades allow ventilation and natural daylight to enter a room while blocking heat and glare. In winter when the blades are closed the timber barrier insulates.

External Roller Shutters.

External Roller Shutters offer weather protection all year round, resulting in up to 40% energy savings on a home’s heating and cooling.

Awnings.

Awnings are ideal for regulating the amount of solar energy that reaches the external surfaces of your home. They can greatly improve your home’s energy efficiency in summer by reducing solar heat gain on windows by up to 77% . Our adjustable or retractable Awnings can be rolled up in the winter to let the sun warm your home.
